Hi, I’m Andrea from Fence-All. A question I often get from customers is, “Why can’t my entire fence be installed in one day?” And believe me, people have tried to change our process to have their fences installed in one day. I’ve even been offered bribes—believe it or not—and I’ve had people beg me. Others have been upset. The simple answer is that fences generally are not installed in one day.
Usually, the process goes like this: on the first day, the posts are installed. Then, we need to allow some time for the cement to dry so that the posts are secure and solid in the ground before the panels are installed. That’s typically the reason for the delay between installing the posts and finishing the fence—we need time for the cement to set properly.
In some cases, projects are completed in one day. For example, with railing installations, there’s no cement involved, so there’s no waiting period. The whole thing can be done in one shot. However, in general, fence installations take a couple of days and aren’t a one-day job.
And really, you wouldn’t want it done in one day. If we don’t allow the cement to dry, the fence won’t be as sturdy or long-lasting. If you’ve invested your money and time into getting a fence, just be patient for those extra few days between the posts being set and the final touches being completed. The waiting time isn’t excessive—it won’t last for weeks—just a couple of days, and it’s worth it for a strong, quality fence.
